Warrior is a game of miniatures warfare covering the period 3000 BC to
1500 AD (basically everything prior to the widespread use of gunpowder
weapons). There are several places to find out more about Warrior:
The two big events in the miniatures hobby each year are Cold Wars and
Historicon, both held at the Lancaster Host Resort in Lancaster,
Pennsylvania.
I've now played in the team tournament at Cold Wars for, I think, six
consecutive years. My partner is my good friend Bill Chamis.
Over the years we have played:
Bill and I have a pretty good record over the years: 8 wins, 4 losses,
and 4 draws. Our best year -- 2001 -- we finished second. This pastyear
we finished sixth. I got some pictures of our games (sorry, some came out
blurry):
- Round 1, facing Medieval Spanish, we lose 5-2
- Round 2, facing Yuan Mongol, we win 5-1
- Round 2, The C-in-C's view of the Yuans
- Round 3, facing Russ, we win 4-1
- Round 3, The C-inC's view of the Russ
- Finals, 100 Years' War English vs. Medieval Spanish (our round 1
opponents): smaller view, larger
view
I last played in the national championship tournament in 2001, when I
played Serbians. I have a variant
of the list I use against other mounted opponents, and a
variant of the list I use against
elephant armies. Alas, this list is now also obsolete because of
"Holy Warrior" so my next time at Historicon I'll be playing
something different (probably some kind of Byzantines).
During Historicon 2001 I got some pictures, both of my games in
the theme tournament, and the national championship. The theme was
armies and enemies of the Caliphate; I played Comnenan Byzantine.
