Fellow banker Karen Franks came into Leslie's office
and said, "Guess who I met on my vacation?" Leslie
said, "I have no idea." Karen handed her this photo
taken April 28... yes, it is a small world!

Meet the Family

Clarence & Mary are our second family feature! Clarence Nathan Stone was born March 9, 1935; his and Mary's wedding anniversary is December 27. Clarence is a college professor and teaches at the University of Maryland. He and Mary have had no pets since the passing of Dudley Do-Right except for the crickets in the basement. Clarence likes aerobics at 6:30 a.m., work, and listening to jazz, blues, and classical. His collections include books -- lots of them and many unread! His theme song is Take the A-Train; his personal quote is "seek and ye shall find." Clarence's favorite book is Regime Politics: Governing Atlanta (1946-1988), his favorite movie is Bridge on the River Kwai, and his favorite historical figure is Martin Luther King Jr. Clarence says we should come visit him because he wants us to and because he has "an empty nest." He doesn't especially think the universe is a friendly place, "but it's nice to hae a sump pump." Mary Louise Niemi Stone was born November 25, 1934. She is the Program Development Manager for the National League of Cities; Mary received her B.S. from Ohio State University in 1957 and her M.A. from Duke University in 1960. Her pets are her African violets and she loves traveling, horse racing, reading mysteries, and surfing the net. Mary's collections include mutual funds and fantastic jewelry made by Andrea. Her theme songs are Finlandie by Jean Sibelius and Proud Mary by Tina Turner. Mary's personal quote is, "That's why the call it work." She loves any historical novel written by Dorothy Dunnett and The Federalist Papers, her favorite movie is The African Queen, and her favorite historical figure is Elizabeth I. Mary thinks we should all come visit her because she and Clarence are "loving, witty, engaging, and fascinating people!" They also live in the nation's capital and know some great Baltimore restaurants. Mary believes that the universe is an ultimately friendly place because the Deep Space Nine crew always prevails in the end -- plus, she believes God is with us. She adds, "Family is everything -- love you all. I am very proud of Mark and Valerie, and of little Alex and his mom, Maria."
